6.3.2 NORMALIZATION
In the analysis events with exactly one neutron counter information n
(n=1,30) and exactly one tag counter information t
(t=1,12) are accepted in order to avoid ambiguities. For all the neutron
and the tag counters the unit vectors
from the origin (center of the LH2 target) to the center of the
counters are known. The angle q 1n can be calculated
using
,
and E g 2(n,t) is obtained for each combination of
neutron counter n and tag counter t. As displayed in
Fig. 6.2, the values for E g 2 are between 68 and 75
MeV. The energy Es deposited in the CsI-array is calculated
from the experimental data. The normalized energy En for each
event is
MeV.
(
6.10)
Before normalizing the energy Es deposited in the CsI-array
to 70 MeV, several corrections have to be applied to the experimental
data, which are described below. The experimental data of one run are analyzed
in two iterations: In the first iteration, pedestal and gain values are
calculated and in the second iteration the corrected data were used to
calculate the deposited energy Es for each event.
