In order to set the current in a magnet, one needs to dial in the octal DAC value (listed in parenthes in the table on the main page). The polarity switch has to be set appropriately (look for '-' signs in the table!). The Bedienung control knob should be set to Lokal, and then the Setzen button (in the bottom of this control unit) should be held until the current and voltage stop rising.
