Summary of the PIBETA Detector Refurbishment May-June 2005

For the locations that were not giving good results, the bases and tubes(if the glue failed) were removed from the detector and tested in a 'dark box' in the lab with an LED light source. The bad bases were taken to UVa to be repaired.

The surfaces of the PMT's and crystals were cleaned before re-installing them into the detector.
All PMT's and Bases were then tested with cosmics while in the detector.

The thermal sensors (T0, T1, T2, T3, T4) were tested. Three out of the ten sensors passed.
