Angular Resolution Optimization

The average angular resolution of the CsI and NaI detector arrays has been measured and optimized in the GEANT simulation. It is defined as the average angular difference tex2html_wrap_inline3432 between the direction of the thrown particles in the simulation in terms of tex2html_wrap_inline5002 and tex2html_wrap_inline5474, and the direction of the reconstructed shower origin coordinates in terms of tex2html_wrap_inline5476 and tex2html_wrap_inline5478. From Equ. 1.26, this angular difference tex2html_wrap_inline5480 takes the form:
multline1367

The optimization of tex2html_wrap_inline3432 for each detector has been done with respect to two parameters: the ADC weighting exponents tex2html_wrap_inline5466 and tex2html_wrap_inline5468 from Equ. 5.1, and the parameters tex2html_wrap_inline5488 and tex2html_wrap_inline5490 which are related to the shower penetration depth in each detector. The latter are used to calculate an angle of incidence correction in the shower origin reconstruction (see Sec. 5.2.2).
